The summer season is upon us in the Philippines. It’s during this time when our A/Cs are turned on for a long period of time as we try to stay away from potential health problems that intense heat can bring.
But in order for us to get the maximum performance from our A/Cs, it’s imperative that we also know how to take good care of them, whether we only own one unit or more.
And one of the ways to prolong the life of our airconditioning unit is by cleaning the filter.
Clean airconditioning filter ensures you have clean air, along with saving energy. For one, dirty air filter usually forces your air-conditioning unit to work double time as it tries to produce clear and cool air amid the dust.
If you regularly use your A/C, having the filter cleaned once a month is a must.
Cleaning your A/C filter is easy because most of the time, it is washable. Make sure you gently scrub the filter by applying, say a dishwashing liquid to remove dust. Rinse it, then dry it before putting it back in your A/C unit.
Cleaning the filter is as easy as 1-2-3, but unless we religiously do this basic maintenance, you can’t expect clean, cool air when you use your A/C.
